High School with a Higher Purpose

The Chesterton Academy of The Divine Mercy is a classical high school, joyfully in the Catholic intellectual tradition in Western Massachusetts, in the Diocese of Springfield. Inspired by the beauty and richness of the Catholic faith, Chesterton Academy seeks to form young men and women to be joyful saints. By introducing them to great thinkers such as Socrates, Thomas Aquinas and Dante, and by forming them in a distinctly Catholic culture, we lead students to choose for themselves the adventure of being a disciple of Christ. We will be opening our doors to our founding class of students and families in the fall of 2027.

Our Mission

The mission of the Chesterton Academy of The Divine Mercy is to help parents raise up a generation of joyful saints and leaders, educated in the classical tradition and the truths of the Catholic faith, in order to serve the common good.  Our rigorous, integrated curriculum unlocks a student’s potential and prepares students to succeed in college and professional life, and to excel in service of family, of country, and of Christ our Lord.

The Chesterton Schools Network

The Chesterton Academy of The Divine Mercy joins the international Chesterton Schools Network, a community of schools dedicated to restoring classical Catholic education in the modern world. Through a carefully developed curriculum and collaborative support among member schools, the network offers a reliable and sustainable model that keeps tuition accessible for families. This partnership ensures that students receive a consistent, faithful, and time-honored education rooted in the best of the Catholic intellectual tradition. An initiative of the Society of Gilbert Keith Chesterton, a Catholic non-profit apostolate, the Chesterton Schools Network inspires and supports new Catholic high schools across the nation, empowering parents as the primary and principal educators of their children.

A Classical School Founded on Catholic Tradition

The academy takes its name and inspiration from G. K. Chesterton, whose writings celebrated the wonder of ordinary life and the enduring truths of the Catholic faith. A master of literature, philosophy, and cultural criticism, Chesterton challenged the modern world with humor, clarity, and profound insight. His example encourages students to cultivate intellectual curiosity, courage in defending truth, and a joyful confidence in the goodness of God’s creation.

Committed Catholic Values

At the heart of the academy is a deep commitment to Catholic theology and the sacramental life of the Church. Daily Mass is attended by the entire student body, faculty, and staff. Regular opportunities for Eucharistic Adoration and the Sacrament of Reconciliation are available to our school community as well.

The school’s proximity to the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy serves as a constant reminder of the Church’s proclamation of God’s boundless mercy, entrusted to the world through St. Faustina Kowalska. This message helps shape a community where prayer, repentance, and joyful trust in God guide both academic formation and daily life.
